Kiana Christmas Tree Beach Driftwood DIY

Love walking on the beach? Me too! Why not pick up some treasures while you’re walking or jogging and make a one-of-a-kind DIY Christmas decor for your home?

What a fun craft to make after walking on the beach! So relaxing and creative  to use treasures found on our morning beach walk along the ocean.  I made a Christmas tree with snow falling and little shells, green  sea glass.  We are staying at our beach house for the Holidays so I thought beach decorations using natural items would be pretty.

Every morning I walk on the beach and collect driftwood.  In this city, it’s really scarce.  If you have any you don’t need…..send it to me! I’d love it! 🙂

I bought a round piece of wood at the hardware store and spray painted it with pale blue chalk paint. I love chalk paint, no primer required and dries fast. Plus it looks a little distressed and worn which I like.  My daughter, Kiana Jr., made a beautiful Nativity scene complete with the 3 Kings, manger and baby Jesus.  I’m so proud of her, she did this all on her own. She sprinkled beach sand on her paint when it was wet to give it more texture 🙂 Love it! I was told I “couldn’t copy her.” Love that!

DIY Nativity Scene

I suggested her making an easy angel, but my over achieving daughter wanted to do the Nativity Scene and I’m so glad she did, it turned out spectacular!

Hope you’ll try making these or share what you’ve made using natures treasures! Love and muscles, XO Kiana

We used a glue gun.  If you use heavy rocks or larger wood, use Gorilla Glue (use outside due to the fumes.)
