Meet Fit Mom Julie D. Wife of a Marathon Man.  Mom of a future football star, only 8 years old.


Is this the same person?


Adorable, charismatic, life of the party Julie D.  Always smiling, sense of humor for days.  Wife of a marathon man, mom to a gorgeous 8 year old boy who is the ultimate athlete.

Everyone starts on their fitness journey at different levels, it doesn’t matter where you start, what matters is that you do start. I have to share this amazing story with you about a woman who trains with me in the online workouts.

As I type this, it still hits me that it is so unbelievable.  Makes me embarrased to complain of little aches and pains.  When she was just a little a baby. Learning to crawl.   Her parents wondered why she would drag one of her legs when she crawled.  Turns out her leg was just dangling.  She was born without a hip socket.

Born without  a hip socket. Now doing squats and single leg dead lifts.

Doctors had to do hip surgery to actually create a hip socket.  Every time she grew, she had to have another surgery to scoop out more cartilage to make the hip socket bigger to accommodate her growing body.  26 surgeries later, yes, 26 surgeries, body casts and all, she is now training with me.

She had not worked out regularly a day in her life.  Before she started, she could not balance on her right leg or put any weight on her leg as the muscle had atrophied so much.  Because the workouts I lead in my private gym focus on building all important core strength & functional muscles, the goal for her is to get functionally fit to be active and do all the things she wants to do with her husband and son.  You can do the SAME WORKOUTS WITH US ONLINE HERE

She does the Level 1 exercise options that I explain before every workout. Today she did her first Level 2 exercises 🙂  It is so exciting to hear and see her accomplishments and excitement as her body gets stronger.  The first time she could balance on her right leg without holding on to a chair was a huge step.

Think about it: we take for granted being able to stand on one leg and balance. It’s a big deal. The first time she could do kick balancing on her right leg was even more amazing.  Last week, she told me she walked the beach trail with her husband and didn’t lose her breath, her legs didn’t hurt and she kept up with him the entire time!

Today she told me she ran up the long flight of stairs to her doctor’s office without holding the railing at all, before she had to hold onto the railing the entire flight of stairs.  🙂 This is so inspiring, I had to share this with you <3

I ran up the flight of stairs to my doctors office today without even thinking about it.  For years, I had to hold on the railing and do 1 step at a time.  I almost started crying.

Hope it inspires you to get fit, stay fit at whatever fitness level you are.  Start somewhere. Anywhere. Just start getting strong, healthy and fit.

It’s not about wearing the bikini.  It’s about being healthy.  Feeling strong and fit.  Being active for yourself and your family.

I did a race in our community with my husband and some friends. We walked about 5 miles.  I didn’t feel ANY pain at all. I did the WHOLE THING!  I said, I’m KIANA STRONG 🙂

Julie’s FORM has improved SO MUCH since she started training 3x per week.  A remarkable 1st for her was when she JUMPED ROPE.  We take that for granted, but for someone who couldnt even balance on 1 leg before, jumping rope is a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT and I am so proud of her.

Incline curls are excellent for developing strength and shape to the upper arms.5

Look at her push ups. Her form is right on.  When she first started she could NOT do a knee plank.  NOW she is doing full knee push ups and going LOW with PERFECT FORM.  3

Bent over rows for the back and rear delts are an exercise she does so well. Louise in the back has lost 2 dress sizes for her 2 daughters’ weddings$$$. When she first started, she had NOT TRAINED EVER.  Now doing dozens of exercises.6
