I made these for my Fit Mom Party and everybody loved them. They are simple to make and only take about 15 minutes to prepare, 30 to cool and harden. So they are an ideal make ahead dessert. The only kind of chocolate I eat is dark chocolate because of the health benefits.
I love the sweet and bitter taste of dark chocolate. I find milk chocolate much too sweet. Because dark chocolate is less sweet than milk chocolate, it is not as likely to cause a frenzy of over indulgence. Gives a feeling of being full. One bit is often enough.
Dark chocolate 70% cocoa minimum
Couple handfuls of almonds, unsweetened coconut, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, pistachio nuts, any of your favorite nuts.
Chop or break the chocolate into similar size pieces for even melting. Put in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high and stir. Repeat for 30 seconds more and stir until creamy and completely melted.
Put wax paper over a cookie sheet. Drop tablespoonfuls of the melted chocolate onto the wax paper. Top with your favorite nuts dried fruit and coconut. Cool for 40 minutes or pop in the fridge.
30-40 minutes later…. Enjoy!
